Grosser Flohmarkt Schaffhausen

Once a year, the Grosse Flohmarkt Schaffhausen transforms the historic old town into a sprawling open air market. The event, organised by Pro City Schaffhausen, comprises around 60 sales pitches across seven areas around Fronwagplatz, Schwertstrasse and Oberstadt.

The range combines classic flea market items with vintage objects, antiques and collectibles. On offer are, among other things, used household goods, crockery, books, decorative items and older one off pieces. A special feature is the dedicated area for vinyl records, where music lovers can search for used records and interesting recordings.

The sales stands are spread across various lanes and squares, nestled between historic house facades, the characteristic Schaffhausen oriel windows and the shops of the old town. You can explore the different market areas on a walk through the centre.

The old town is busy on this day, without the market ever feeling overly crowded. Street cafés, restaurants and everyday city life add to the open, sociable atmosphere.

The Grosse Flohmarkt combines a varied secondhand offering with Schaffhausen's special historic backdrop, and suits both collectors and an extended Saturday morning in the old town.
