What data we process
Visiting the website generates technical access data (IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type). These serve the delivery and security of the website.
If you use the radius search with your location, your location is used only in the browser to show nearby markets. It is not stored permanently.
Newsletter
When you sign up for the newsletter we store your email address, your language and region selection, and technical signup metadata (timestamp, consent, request IP) solely for the purpose of sending the newsletter. The data are processed through our provider Sequenzy.
You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the end of every newsletter. The preferences link in the same email lets you change your regions and language without unsubscribing.
WhatsApp concierge (Mira)
If you use our WhatsApp service (our assistant «Mira»), we process the phone number supplied by WhatsApp and the content of your messages in order to answer your questions about markets, dates and places. Messages are sent through the WhatsApp Business Cloud API of Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.
We use Anthropic’s Claude language model to compose the answers, which means the content of your request is transmitted to Anthropic for processing. We keep the request and the answer for diagnostic and quality purposes for a maximum of 90 days, after which they are deleted automatically.
The legal basis is your request itself together with our legitimate interest in a functioning, good-quality information service (Art. 31 revFADP / Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). You can request deletion of your WhatsApp data at any time; the Data deletion page explains how.
Map service
This website uses Google Maps from Google Ireland Ltd. for the map view. Loading a map transfers technical data, including your IP address, to Google. Google’s privacy notice at policies.google.com/privacy applies.
On individual market pages the map is first loaded as a static image and only becomes interactive when you click it. In the market search the interactive map loads directly. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a usable location display (Art. 31 revFADP / Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Web analytics
This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service from Google Ireland Ltd. We use it to measure which pages are read and which channels visitors arrive through. Google Analytics sets two cookies for this (_ga and _ga_E63EKNFFP3) with a lifetime of up to two years, which give your browser a random identifier. Google Analytics 4 does not store your IP address: it is used to approximate your location and then discarded. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA.
We read this data only in aggregate and never join it to your name or your email address. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding which content is useful (Art. 31 revFADP / Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
You can object at any time: with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, through your browser’s "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" setting, or by blocking cookies for this site. Alongside it we use Vercel Web Analytics, which works without cookies and collects no personal data.
Meta advertising pixel
This website embeds the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. It measures what visitors do who found us through an advert on Instagram or Facebook, so that we can judge whether a campaign was worth running. The pixel sets cookies for this: _fbp always, and _fbc when you arrive from an advert, both with a lifetime of up to three months. Data may be transferred to Meta Platforms Inc. in the USA.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in being able to tell whether our adverts work (Art. 31 revFADP / Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can block the pixel by blocking cookies for this site or by using an ad blocker. The site works exactly the same either way. Your advertising preferences at Meta itself can be changed at accountscenter.meta.com.
Processors
We use the following providers: Vercel Inc. (USA) for website hosting, Supabase Inc. for the market database, Sequenzy for newsletter delivery, Google Ireland Ltd. for the map service and web analytics, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. for the WhatsApp service and the advertising pixel and Anthropic PBC (USA) for the language model behind Mira.
All of these providers process data solely on our behalf and for the purposes named here.
Retention
Technical server logs are deleted automatically after a short period. WhatsApp conversations with Mira are deleted after 90 days at the latest. Newsletter data are kept until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
The site itself needs no cookies: technically necessary settings such as your language choice are stored locally in your browser and are not transmitted to us.
Cookies are set only by the two services described above: _ga and _ga_E63EKNFFP3 from Google Analytics with a lifetime of up to two years, and _fbp and _fbc from the Meta Pixel with a lifetime of up to three months. You can block or delete them in your browser at any time. The site works exactly the same afterwards.
Your rights
You have the right at any time to information, correction, deletion and withdrawal of consent. Write to us at hello@thevintagemarketguide.com. The Data deletion page explains how to request full deletion of your data.
