La Grande Braderie de Carouge

Twice a year, in early summer and early autumn, the people of Carouge clear out their cellars and attics onto the Place du Marché, the Place de Sardaigne and the streets around them. The stalls belong to Carouge residents only, so this is a genuine vide-grenier rather than a dealers' market. Children run their own toy market, the Braderie des petits, on the Place de Sardaigne the same day. The day before, on Saturday, Carouge's shops hold a vide-boutique and put their own stock out on the street, open 10:00 to 18:00 depending on each shop.
