About this market

The Zürcher Uhren-Markt is a traditional collectors' fair for watches and clocks in the Theatersaal of the Volkshaus Zürich near Helvetiaplatz. It has taken place twice a year since 1993, each time on a Sunday in spring and autumn. Several dozen dealers and collectors from Switzerland and neighbouring countries come to Zürich for it, as does a specialised audience of watch lovers and collectors.

The range extends from pocket watches, wristwatches and large clocks to watch parts, accessories, specialist literature and jewellery. Alongside used and older pieces, newer watches can also be found. This makes the market less a classic flea market than a genuine collectors' fair: at its centre are watches in a wide range of price categories, spare parts and direct exchange between dealers, collectors and visitors.

The Zürcher Uhren-Markt is organised today by Alois and Sacha Iten. The manageable format with sales tables and display cases makes it possible to look at pieces directly, compare them and start a conversation with the sellers, a format that holds particular appeal for vintage and collector's watches. The Volkshaus is easy to reach by tram and bus, at the Helvetiaplatz stop (tram 8, bus 31), and the Parkhaus Helvetiaplatz car park is right next door.
