Open-Air-Brocante Estavayer-le-Lac

The open-air brocante Estavayer-le-Lac takes place once a year during a three-day summer weekend in early August in the medieval old town. More than 80 sales stands are spread along the Grand-Rue, the Rue du Musée, the Rue de l'Hôtel-de-Ville, the Rue du Camus and the squares around the church, right up under the arcades of the Place de l'Eglise.

The focus is on antiques, brocante and selected vintage objects. The range includes porcelain, ceramics, glassware, old kitchen equipment, furniture, rustic antiques, books, records, jewellery as well as design and furnishing items from the 20th century. Classic secondhand clothing plays a minor role. This clearly sets the event apart from an ordinary household flea market. The traders are present on all three days.

The historic old town with its narrow lanes, arcades and old house facades forms a particularly characteristic setting. The market stands stretch through several streets and squares, with smaller, quieter areas alternating with livelier market sections.

The location above Lake Neuchâtel and the historic townscape also make the brocante interesting for visitors who want to combine an antiques market with a trip into the region. Parking is five minutes' walk away, and the train station can also be reached on foot.
