Kreisflohmi

The Kreisflohmi Zürich is a decentralised neighbourhood flea market, where residents sell their used items directly outside their own front door. From May to September, on various Saturdays, one of the twelve Zürich city districts takes its turn. The series of events is organised by the association raumwerk.

Unlike a traditional flea market on a central square, the sales stands are spread across the whole neighbourhood. Selling takes place on private ground, in flats, courtyards, gardens, house entrances, garages and on terraces. An interactive online map shows the registered locations and lets you put together your own route through the streets and residential areas.

The range on offer is as varied as the participating households. You'll find secondhand clothes, shoes, books, toys, crockery, glassware, ceramics, decorative items and all kinds of everyday objects. Among them are also vintage pieces and older one-off finds. The focus is on private sales and personal finds rather than a professional antiques offering.

A special appeal lies in the fact that the Kreisflohmi gives you glimpses into parts of the city that are otherwise hardly accessible. In Kreis 1, for example, the route leads from the Schipfe by the Limmat over the Lindenhof and the Rathausbrücke to the Niederdorf. Between the historic houses and narrow old town alleys, house entrances and courtyards keep opening up with small sales stands.

Each city district offers a different setting and a changing mix of sellers. The Kreisflohmi combines a traditional private flea market with an extended walk through Zürich's various neighbourhoods.
