Flohmarkt @ The Stage Vidmarhallen Bern
The Flohmarkt @ The Stage regularly takes place in the VIDMARhallen in Liebefeld near Bern, always on the second Sunday of the month, with a summer break from June to August. The former industrial site with its generous interior spaces is today the venue of The Stage, a house for dance and performance modelled on Broadway, and offers an unusual backdrop for a secondhand market where fashion, music and an urban lifestyle feeling come together.
The focus is on secondhand fashion. At numerous stalls you'll find clothes, jackets, shoes and accessories, including vintage pieces and well kept branded fashion. Jewellery, books and smaller finds round out the range. Unlike a classic flea market with household goods and antiques, the focus here is clearly on clothing and personal accessories.
The sales stalls are spread across several interconnected halls. A live DJ provides musical accompaniment, while the industrial ambience gives the market its own distinct character. The market is well attended, with a mostly younger but genuinely cross generational audience. The musical direction ranges from hip hop to electronic sounds. The offer is strongly shaped by well presented secondhand clothing.
The event concept also includes a food and drink offer. Since the market takes place entirely indoors and also runs during the winter months, it offers a weather independent chance to browse and shop secondhand.
