Retrotechnica Thun

The Retrotechnica Thun is a diverse collectors' fair for historical technology, nostalgic toys and collectibles from past decades. The event, organised by Dakota Events, brings together four themed areas under one roof: RetroTechnica, RetroPhoto, RetroVinyls and the Berner Sammler-Spielzeugbörse.

Model cars, model railways and collectible toys are especially well represented. Table after table lines up locomotives, railway carriages, miniature vehicles and models from various manufacturers and eras. At the October 2026 edition, these collecting areas took up a particularly large part of the exhibition space. The offering is complemented by classic toys, comics, retro games, historical cameras, radios, hi-fi equipment, records and other technical collectibles.

Characteristic of the Retrotechnica are the numerous specialised sales stands with carefully sorted and often elaborately presented collectibles. The selection ranges from well known classics to unusual individual pieces and rare models. Unlike a traditional flea market, the focus here is not on house clearances and mixed junk, but on specifically curated collectors' assortments. Accordingly, the fair is aimed primarily at enthusiasts of particular collecting fields who are looking for special pieces, want to add to their collection or wish to exchange ideas with like minded people.

The event takes place in the spacious halls of the Thun-Expo. The extensive fairground offers space for numerous exhibitors and is accessible regardless of the weather. Parking is available directly next to the halls, and catering options are also on site.
