Flohmi am See Egelsee Bern
The Flohmi am See Egelsee is a small neighbourhood flea market at the Werkhof Egelsee in Bern, a neighbourhood and cultural centre directly by the Egelsee. It takes place on several Sundays between May and October and combines the sale of used everyday items with the function of a local meeting point.
The range consists mainly of private secondhand goods. On offer are clothes, shoes, toys, children's items, crockery, household items and various smaller found pieces. New goods and handmade items are not allowed, and the focus is on everyday used goods, not on antiques or specialised collector's items.
The sales stalls stand relatively close together and form a compact market area. Despite its modest size, the Flohmi can be very lively. Often numerous visitors are out and about, including young adults, families and older neighbourhood residents. Between the stalls people try things on, haggle, laugh and talk with one another.
The proximity to the Egelsee and to the Werkhof shapes the character of the event. A café complements the market activity and offers a chance for a break. The atmosphere is relaxed and neighbourly, with a focus on exchange between people from the neighbourhood.
Since parking spaces in the area are limited, arrival by public transport is recommended. The Flohmi is especially suited for an uncomplicated secondhand stroll in Bern and less for a targeted search for antiques.

A small flea market, wonderfully lively, bustling and busy: by the Egelsee, in the middle of the neighbourhood and right next to the Werkhof Egelsee, private sellers offer secondhand clothes and shoes, toys, crockery and household goods, true to the motto of passing things on rather than throwing them away. People try things on, haggle and chat here, a neighbourhood market through and through, with a small café on the square for a break in between.
