About this market

The Flohmarkt St. Mangen takes place in the historic St. Mangen-Quartier in the old town of St. Gallen, from March to October on the last Saturday of each month. The event, organised by the Quartierverein St. Mangen, spreads around the church of the same name and through the surrounding lanes, not far from the UNESCO World Heritage site Stiftsbezirk St. Gallen.

The market is laid out as a traditional neighbourhood flea market and offers a mixed selection of used goods. Household items, crockery, books, clothing, decorative objects and various older finds are at the centre. The range is not specialised in particular collecting areas but corresponds to a varied local flea market.

A special feature is the historic setting. The stalls are spread around the church and along the old rows of houses, while the towers of the Stiftsbezirk rise above the rooftops. The winding lanes and nearby cafés shape the character of the market.

Thanks to its central location, the flea market can easily be combined with a stroll through the old town of St. Gallen. It suits both local flea market visitors and guests who enjoy discovering smaller markets in a historic setting.

Quarter to seven, the lanes still half dark, and everywhere the first crates are opening. The market spreads around the church of St. Mangen, with the towers of the Stiftsbezirk above the rooftops and a café right in the middle.
