Flohmarkt Belltree Tower SchlierenGrosser Sonntags-Flohmarkt
The Belltree Tower Schlieren flea market takes place on selected Sundays each year on the historic gasworks site in the Limmattal. The former gasworks, with its brick buildings, striking water tower and a preserved gasometer, offers an unusual backdrop for a traditional outdoor flea market.
The stalls are spread between the old industrial buildings under tall, shade giving trees, and the vendors park their cars right beside their stand. Alongside private sellers, there are also vendors with carefully assembled secondhand and vintage ranges. The focus is on selling used items in a straightforward setting.
With around 30 stalls the market is manageable in size, and individual stands offer an appealing selection of older items. The atmosphere is calm and not very crowded, with plenty of room to browse.
A special feature is the combination of industrial heritage and flea market. The Gaswerk Schlieren opened in 1898 and was shut down in 1974, and parts of the historic site survive to this day. The market suits visitors who appreciate smaller flea markets and enjoy discovering unusual venues.

A brick site in the Limmattal, one of the last preserved gasometers of its kind and above it the striking water tower. The Gaswerk Schlieren, opened in 1898 and shut down since 1974, is quite a special place for a flea market. Between the historic buildings, around thirty stalls stood on Sunday under tall old trees.
