About this market

The Bollodinger Brocante takes place on a Sunday several times a year in the multipurpose hall of the Bettenhausen school, at Dorfstrasse 26 in the Bernese Oberaargau. The setting is modest: a small village gym where dealers gather with antiques, collectibles, older household objects and crafts. Behind the unassuming backdrop is a surprisingly good brocante with a carefully displayed, varied selection.

The stalls hold old postcards, books, pictures, records, collectible toys and all kinds of antiques, alongside handmade work and one-off pieces. What stands out is the quality: instead of random household junk, well-kept, deliberately chosen objects dominate, and the organiser itself calls it an upmarket flea market. Anyone who loves older objects will find the tables worth browsing slowly.

The atmosphere is friendly, down-to-earth and relaxed. Despite its modest size the hall is busy, and many visitors are seasoned collectors who take their time and are happy to fall into conversation. A small bistro invites a break, and now and then a stall sets up outside the hall. The Bollodinger Brocante is no big antiques fair but a likeable collectors' market with local character, its charm lying in the contrast between the plain village hall and the good finds inside.
